PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent separation of a glass lining layer by freezing of water retained in a clearance between heat transfer tubes and metallic tube plates, in a glass lined heat exchanger formed by arranging the internally glass lined heat transfer tubes. SOLUTION: This glass lined heat exchanger is formed by arranging a large number of heat transfer tubes supplied with a heat exchange object fluid, and is formed by attaching end parts of the heat transfer tubes to the metallic tube plates by welding, and uses water and an antifreeze of 0°C or below as a refrigerant for cooling the heat exchange object fluid supplied to the heat transfer tubes by heat exchange, and is characterized by filling a clearance part between the welded end parts of the heat transfer tubes and the metallic tube plates with a filler composed of an epoxy synthetic resin.
