PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for reducing the wear of a cylinder while reducing the weight of a cushion unit, and preventing thermal effects. SOLUTION: The vehicular cushion unit structure comprises a damper and a spring. The damper has a cylinder 121, a piston for sliding in the cylinder 121, and a piston rod connected to the piston. The spring is carried over the damper on the side of the cylinder 121 and on the side of the piston rod. A cover 133 encircles the piston rod, and its end slides on the outer peripheral face of the cylinder 121. The cylinder 121 is formed of an aluminum alloy. On an outer peripheral face 121g of the cylinder 121, a recessed portion 121h is formed which is covered with a protecting tool 122 as a separate member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
