<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in cost by making a light emitting element compact to reduce the area of a chip. <P>SOLUTION: A shift register circuit 100 has data output terminals Q1, Q2, ..., Q192 in the same number as light emitting thyristors, each data output terminal connected to a gate electrode of the corresponding light-emitting element thyristor. The shift register circuit 100 also has flip-flops for holding a voltage level, at which level gate voltage is applied to the corresponding terminal.
