<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leg part restricting device capable of sufficiently exerting effects of air bag device and seat belt by preventing lower limbs of an occupant from being damaged in a vehicle collision or preventing the position of the body of the occupant from being shifted. <P>SOLUTION: This leg part restricting device is provided with a panel projecting part 11 arranged in a lower inclined form toward the front of the vehicle 1 to a vehicle floor surface in a storage 4a formed in an instrument panel main body 4 of the vehicle 1 to project toward the lower leg parts 9a of the occupant 9, a collision detector 13 for detecting a collision of the vehicle 1, and a projecting part operation means 12 for projecting the panel projecting part 11 from the storage 4a when the collision detector 13 detects the collision of the vehicle 1.
