<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem where, since an LED lamp generates light only in one direction whereas a conventional lamp such as an incandescent bulb emits light in almost all directions, a satisfiable light distribution can not be formed by the structure of a conventional headlamp. <P>SOLUTION: This application provides this projection type LED lamp 1 that is structured such that an LED chip 2 is arranged in the vicinity of a focal point of a projection means having the focal point; and a shade member 6 covering a part of the LED chip 2 is formed in a shape capable of providing a light distribution characteristic suitable for a vehicular headlamp when the light from the LED chip 2 is expanded and projected in an irradiation direction by a projection means such as a projection lens 10, whereby the correct light distribution characteristic can be provided by a simple means which only projects the light in the irradiation direction by the projection lens 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
