A message board service apparatus using IMAP(Internet Messaging Access Protocol) and a method thereof are provided to implement a simple, powerful message board service within a short time without designing an additional algorithm or database by using IMAP which was designed as an e-mail protocol. An IMAP terminal(10) comprises a post searching part(14) and a post output part(15). For a keyword a user requests, the post searching part issues a search command to search for posts of a mail server's mail box. The post output part receives requested posts from the mail server by means of a fetch command. In this case, the post output part requests the mail server to transmit posts of a requested field only. The post searching part executes field-by-field searching by means of the parameters of the search command. |
