A power transmitting and lubricating apparatus for an automatic transmission is provided to prevent oil from being sprayed outside a hub retainer by opening an oil spraying hole toward a hub retainer. A power transmitting and lubricating apparatus for an automatic transmission includes a planetary carrier(16), a ring gear(20), a sun gear(24), a clutch(34), and a hub retainer(10a). Power is transferred between the clutch and the planetary carrier. Lubricating oil is supplied to a pinion gear. The hub retainer is coupled with an upper end of the planetary carrier, such that the lubricating oil is supplied to the pinion gear. An oil spraying hole is opened toward the hub retainer. One end of the hub retainer is formed to be wide enough to be integrated with an upper end of the planetary carrier. The other end of the hub retainer is formed on an outer diameter of a clutch coupling groove. The other side of the hub retainer is arranged to screen half of an inlet hole of the oil spraying hole.
