DISPLAY PANEL USING AFTERIMAGE EFFECT AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A display device and a control method thereof are provided to accurately display a specific letter or a pattern irrespective of a moving speed of the display device by adjusting sequential or selective on/off times according to an acceleration signal from an acceleration sensor. A display device includes an acceleration sensor(110) and a light emitting controller(120). The light emitting controller includes an ADC(121), a light emitting program storage module(124), an acceleration signal analysis module(122), and a control module. The ADC(Analog Digital Converter) converts an analog signal from the acceleration sensor to a digital acceleration signal. The light emitting program storage module stores program for sequentially or selectively turning on/off plural LEDs. The acceleration signal analysis module compares the acceleration signal with a reference speed and calculates a big or small portion of the acceleration signal with respect to the reference speed. The control module controls sequential on/off times of the LED based on the measured acceleration signal. The reference speed corresponds to the sequential on/off reference times of the LED(Light Emitting Diode).
