An electronic control of the position of a throttle valve of a carburettor or an injection pump in motor vehicles, in which the movement of the accelerator pedal is electrically transmitted to the throttle valve and the throttle valve is operated by way of an electric motor has a set value pick-up on the accelerator pedal, a control element and an actuator connected to the electric motor. In this arrangement the movements of the accelerator pedal towards the full throttle position are transmitted at a slower rate with low numbers of revolutions for the electric motor.
