A method for compensation of reactive power in electrical networks includes measuring current and voltage of a capacitance storage device, and comparison of measured and prescribed values, control an energy flow of the capacitance storage device in accordance with results of comparison. A transducer of reactive power, the signal from which is supplied to a control unit that is capable of discharge of the capacitance storage device is installed.
