PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical data link capable of being realized, as previously designed, without impairing the communication functions of a host device independently of the output voltage of a slow start power circuit of an optical data link, at insertion of live wires. SOLUTION: The optical data link comprises: a communication control circuit 8a for transmitting and receiving a control signal between the optical data link and a communication control circuit 22, when the optical data link 1 is mounted on a host device 20; and a diode 8b for connecting a signal terminal 8d of the communication control circuit 8a, in/from which the control signal is input/output and a power terminal 6a, to which power Vcc (1) is connected between the slow start power circuit 6 for supplying power to the optical data link 1, by using the power Vcc (1) of the host device 20 and the host device 20.
