PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server system that automates patch application in a duplex server system while preventing service interruptions, and a patch processing method. SOLUTION: In the duplex server system comprising a duplex server comprising an operating system server and a standby system server, and a maintenance server capable of transferring patches for correcting processes, the maintenance server inputs a system resuming command after adopting a patch for the initialization of a process. The duplex server resumes the system after adopting the patch, and validates the patch. Also, the duplex server first applies the patch to the standby system server, and then switches the standby system server to the operating system server after resuming the system of the standby system server and validating the patch; the patch is applied to the switched new standby system server.
