PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor lighting system which has two lines of a commercial power source and a storage battery as a power source of a light source and has a long battery life and can save power. SOLUTION: The outdoor lighting apparatus is provided with a light source 8, a storage battery 5 which is electrically connected with a commercial power source 2 and is charged, and a photo-switch 9 which controls selectively a night lighting mode and a reduced light mode and lights up the light source by the commercial power source when the night lighting mode is selected and lights up the light source by the storage battery when the dimmed lighting mode is selected.
