PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent device and its manufacturing method in which a moisture shutdown and an ultraviolet shutdown can be realized in a single means. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent device is provided with a light emitting element on a substrate and a sealing membrane which covers the light emitting element and is composed of a lamination of a plurality of layers with different refractive factors.
