PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding apparatus for molding a magnetic particle capable of efficiently removing a solvent from slurry in compression molding, and to provide a method of manufacturing a magnet. SOLUTION: The molding apparatus 2 has: a die 10, including a mortar 14 in which a through hole 16 is formed and an upper die 12 having a die surface 12a facing the through hole 16 when being arranged so that one end of the through hole 16 is blocked; a lower punch 8 that has a shape fitted to the through hole 16 and is inserted into the through hole 16 slidably; and a magnetic field generation section 6 for applying a magnetic field to the die 10. The mortar 14 has a porous section 14a that composes the inner wall of the through hole 16 and is extended to one end of the through hole 16 at a side, where the upper die 12 is arranged. When the upper die 12 is arranged so that one end of the through hole 16 is blocked, a drainage passage 18 is formed for connection to the outside of the die 10 from an opening 18a formed on a die surface 12a at a position facing the porous section 14a.
