PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduced electron transmitter-immobilized material relatively long in service life as a reduced form even in the presence of oxygen in an air open system, especially in a system in the presence of a photosensitizing coloring matter ( also referred to as a photosensitizer), insoluble in a medium, especially in an aqueous solution, and transportable, without the need of using any special immobilizing substance. SOLUTION: The reduced electron transmitter-immobilized base material is such that at least the surface of a base material is immobilized with a reduced electron transmitter represented by general formula in Fig. (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>is methyl; FG is a functional group; and l means an integer of 1-29).
