PURPOSE: A program upgrade system for a television and a method therefor are provided to simply upgrade a program of the television by connecting a download module to an upgrade port of the television. CONSTITUTION: A download module(280) transmits a stored upgrade program. A digital television(200) physically connects to the download module(280), receives the upgrade program, and upgrades the program. The download module(280) has a flash ROM(270), a microcomputer(260) and a data line(290). The flash ROM(270) stores the program. The microcomputer(260) controls the flash ROM(270), and executes the downloading of the program stored in the flash ROM(270). The data line(290) transmits the data stored in the flash ROM(270). |
