PURPOSE:To convert HIRAGANA (round form of Japanese syllabary) and KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) which have been inputted already, to KATAKANA and HIRAGANA, respectively, by providing a means for converting a character within a range indicated by an indicating means, to a character of other shift mode. CONSTITUTION:In case one key of a KANA (Japanese syllabary) and symbol key group CK is operated, a code of an inputted character key is stored in an address displayed on a cursor register CREG of a character buffer CBUT, and also ''1'' is added to the register CREG. Therefore, the contents of the buffer CBUF and the register CREG are displayed on an indicators DIS through a display controller DISC. When a range initial key AB is depressed, the contents of the register CREG are transferred to a range register HREG. When a KATAKANA converting key CC or a HIRAGANA converting key HC is depressed, a designated character is converted to KATAKANA or HIRAGANA. |
