PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment having high operability even when it is in use in a vertical attitude that is not regarded as a standard attitude. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 1A includes: assignment-function customizable custom keys C1 to C3 that are disposed within the reach of a specified finger (e.g. thumb) of user's right hand with which the imaging apparatus 1A equipped with a vertical position control grip 7 is held in the vertical attitude; and an attitude detecting sensor for detecting the attitude of the imaging apparatus 1A. When it is judged that the imaging apparatus 1A is in a horizontal attitude (standard attitude) based on the detection result by the attitude detecting sensor, a first function stored in a memory is assigned to the custom keys C1 to C3, whereas when it is judged that the imaging apparatus 1A is in the vertical attitude (non standard attitude), a second function stored in the memory is assigned to the custom keys C1 to C3.
