PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mobile phone etc., in which at least calls can be made or received even if a voice call is impossible, for example, when a manner mode is set. SOLUTION: When a call is received during manner mode is set, a received voice signal is recognized and transformed into character data according to a control program at a control section 7 and displayed at a display section 10. For sending out signals, characters are input from an operating section 11 and character data is transformed into synthetic voice according to the control program at the control section 7 and transmitted as a voice signal to an opposite speaker.
