PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength steel sheet having excellent scale adhesion upon hot pressing in which, upon hot pressing such as die quenching and hot pressing where the steel sheet is heated, and is thereafter subjected to member molding of simultaneously performing press molding and quenching, scale peeling is prevented and galling caused by scale can be suppressed, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a high-strength steel sheet having excellent scale adhesion upon hot pressing, which is characterized in that recessed parts with a depth of≥2μm are present by≥3 pieces per the cross-sectional length of 100μm in the steel sheet cross-section, and also, recessed parts of≥10 pieces/10,000μm<SP>2</SP>in an area ratio of≥7% are dispersed into the steel sheet surface.
