PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately manage the number of photographable reversibly compressed RAW images. SOLUTION: Empty capacity of a memory card 10 is detected by an empty capacity detection section 50. The number of compressed RAW files recorded on the memory card 10 and a total file size are detected by a file detection section 51. An average file size of the compressed RAW files is calculated by an average file size calculation section 52 from the number of files and the total file size detected by the file detection section 51. The number of compressed RAW files recordable on the memory card 10 is calculated from the empty capacity and the average file size by a recordable number calculation section 53.
