PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power line communication device capable of outputting network data while preventing the network data from being leaked to a power line. SOLUTION: A PLC adapter 400 which is one form of the power line communication device is provided with a CPU 410, a plug 420, an AC/DC power conversion part 421, a transformer 422, an analog front end 423, a power line modem 424, a filter 425, a RAM 426, a network controller 427, an RJ45 connector 428, and a ROM 430 for storing the network data for power line communication. When detecting the output request of the network data, the CPU 410 starts a filtering operation by the filter 425 and inhibits the transmission of the network data from the ROM 430 to the plug 420.
