PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine for improving the accuracy of intake oxygen concentration to be measured by an oxygen concentration sensor. SOLUTION: The engine 1 comprises a supercharger 5 having a compressor 51 and a turbine 52, an exhaust gas recirculating device 6 having a recirculating passage 61 communicating an intake passage 3 with an exhaust passage 4, and the oxygen concentration sensor 7 for measuring the oxygen concentration of intake mixture gas of recirculated gas recirculated through the recirculating passage 61 to the intake passage 3 and fresh air in the intake passage 3. To the intake passage 3 on the downstream side beyond the recirculating passage 61, a taking-out passage 8 is connected for taking the intake mixture gas out of the intake passage 3. The outlet of the taking-out passage 8 is connected to the intake passage 3 on the upstream side beyond the compressor 51. On the inlet side of the taking-out passage 8, a throttle part 9 is provided for throttling the intake mixture gas to be taken out by the take-out passage. In the taking-out passage 8 on the downstream side of the throttle part 9, the oxygen concentration sensor 7 is arranged adjacent to the throttle part 9. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
