The socket (1) has a plastic socket part (2), and a radial spring (6) designed as a curved leaf spring. A hollow cylinder section (12) is designed as one-piece with the socket part and receives a reference bush (8), and a lamp container is fixable at the reference bush. The radial spring is slidably supported at a sliding surface of the hollow cylinder section. The radial spring has two side pieces, which are supported in inclined openings of the cylinder section with low friction. The inclined openings are designed as axial openings. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an axial spring acting as a radial spring for a lamp socket.
