PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is capable of controlling lighting/extinction of many segment electrodes at a low cost. SOLUTION: An LCD driver circuit 9 is provided with driving signal output terminals SEG12, and the driving signal output terminals SEG12 are configured so as to scan a common terminal COM11 and to output respective driving signals synchronously with this scanning. Furthermore, a CPU 10 has an output terminal 13 which outputs a pulse of a frequency higher than a frame frequency outputted from the common terminal COM11. The output terminal 13 is configured so as to be connected to a segment electrode 7e to which no driving signal output terminals SG12 are connected because of lack in quantity of driving signal output terminals SEG12, out of segment electrodes 7a to 7e. A Hi impedance resistance 14 is connected to a communication line 15 between the common terminal COM11 and the segment electrode 7e to which the output terminal 13 of the CPU 10 is connected.
