The cable (100a) has a hollow body (20a) with a slit (S) in its longitudinal direction, and a hollow space (H). Optical transmission units (10) are inserted into the hollow space through the slit. Each optical transmission unit has an optical fiber (1). Recesses are arranged along the slit. The optical transmission units are removed from the hollow space through the recesses. Electrical conductors (30) are incorporated in a wall of the hollow body. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cable.
