A flat panel display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce a manufacture cost by manufacturing a thin film transistor only with three masks. A flat panel display device includes a substrate(110), a thin film transistor, and a light emitting element. The thin film transistor is formed on the substrate and includes an activation layer, a source electrode(171), a drain electrode(172), and an ohmic contact layer(160). The source electrode and the drain electrode are in contact with the activation layer. The ohmic contact layer is interposed between the activation layer and the source electrode and drain electrode. The light emitting element is electrically connected to the thin film transistor. The ohmic contact layer, the source electrode, and the drain electrode are formed in the same pattern. |
