<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet inspecting device and inspecting method for efficiently inspecting a paper sheet to be fed regardless of the direction of the paper sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The paper sheet inspecting device has a feeding part 11 for feeding supplied paper sheets into a device one by one, a detector 23 for detecting the feeding direction of a fed paper sheet, a genuineness detector 23 arranged so as to face one side of the paper sheet to detect genuineness characteristics of one side of the paper sheet, a plurality of accumulating parts 15, 17 and 19 for accumulating paper sheets, a conveyance path for connecting the accumulating parts, and an operating part 27 for designating the denomination of the paper sheet of an inspection target and designating an operation as to which accumulating part the paper sheet is to be conveyed to in accordance with the detection result of the paper sheet. The paper sheet inspecting device is provided with an authenticating part 61 for requesting prescribed authentication and validating the designation of an operation when acquiring the authentication when the operation is designated so as to nullify genuineness determination of the paper sheet in the case that a designated denomination has genuineness characteristics only on one side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
