PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a lens array, which is capable of manufacturing a further high-quality lens array by suppressing a mold damage by heat from a softened optical material and by suppressing the softened optical material from being fused to the molding surface of the mold. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the lens array is for manufacturing the lens array by press-molding the softened optical material G by using the mold M and includes: a material preparing process for preparing the optical material G, having a melting point lower than the heat resisting temperature of the mold and a coefficient of linear expansion smaller than that of the mold, and the mold M having a first mold M<SB>1</SB>and a second mold M<SB>2</SB>; a material placing process for placing the softened optical material between the first mold and the second mold; a press-molding process for applying a predetermined pressure to the material placed in the mold; and a releasing process for moving the first mold, after a predetermined time elapses from the start of the press-molding process.
