PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a conventional medical electrode includes a machined metal or coiled metal wire component, and although it is suitably conductive, flexibility is not provided in respect of both mechanical property and design provided by a metal coated polymer. SOLUTION: The conductive member includes an elongate body having at least one conductive region 20. The conductive region 20 includes a porous polymer material coated with conductive material. A method of manufacturing the conductive member includes a step of extruding an elongate body of polymer material, and a step of coating the elongate body, at least one region of which is porous, with conductive material to substantially coat the pores of at least one region.
