PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal ring mounting method requiring a simply constructed tool for inserting a seal ring into a cylinder body as it remains in an assumed attitude and accurately mounting it in a seal groove. SOLUTION: After the annular seal ring 45 is put into a narrow groove 52 to be deformed into an elliptical shape, a minor axis portion 47 of the ellipse is thrust until the seal ring 45 is stored in a thin pipe 61 in the form of being bent at the short diameter portion 47, and the thin pipe 61 is fitted in the cylinder body 41. Then, the seal ring 45 in the thin pipe 61 is pushed into the cylinder body 41 and fitted in the seal groove 43 of the cylinder body 41. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
