<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cation-exchange membrane which has sufficient membrane strength, and can increase an amount of an aqueous solution of an alkali chloride, which passes through a space between an anode and the cation-exchange membrane, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the cation-exchange membrane includes the steps of: preparing a layered body having the membrane body including a polymer having a cation-exchange group or a group which can become the cation-exchange group by being hydrolyzed, and a porous layer which is provided at least on one side of the membrane body; bringing a fabric cloth tightly in contact with the surface of the porous layer; and peeling the fabric cloth to form a groove on the surface of the layered body. The fabric cloth to be used is woven by preparing thread constituted by a core-in-sheath fiber having a core part containing a thermoplastic resin (A) and a sheath part containing a thermoplastic resin (B) having a melting point of 30°C or lower than that of the thermoplastic resin (A), and using the thread for the warp and woof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
