PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove errors in a sub-scanning direction which occur in respective positions in a main scanning direction in scan lines due to an optical element. SOLUTION: A light beam scanner includes: a scanning element which receives a light beam and can deflect the light beam in the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction in a prescribed position; a main scanning control means which controls scanning of the light beam in the main scanning direction by the scanning element; a sub-scanning control means which controls the position of the light beam in the sub-scanning direction by the scanning element; and a storage means wherein information about position errors in the sub-scanning direction, which are included in a scan line formed in a prescribed position by scanning of the light beam by the main scanning control means, is stored. The sub-scanning control means controls the scanning element so that the position errors are corrected on the basis of the information about position errors stored in the storage means.
