<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humectant, an anti-ageing agent, an antioxidant, an anti-inflammatory agent, a bleaching agent, and a slimming agent and an external preparation for skin, which exhibit a high moisture-retaining effect, an anti-ageing effect, an anti-oxidizing effect, an anti-inflammatory effect, and a slimming effect, respectively. <P>SOLUTION: The external preparation for the skin is characterized by containing an extract of a Lysimachia as an active ingredient, and the humectant, the anti-ageing agent, the antioxidant, the anti-inflammatory agent, the bleaching agent, and the slimming agent each contains an extract of a Lysimachia as an active ingredient.
