<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a chip resistor, with which a final breaking face can be prevented from remaining in a chip resistor. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the chip resistor has: a process for forming a substrate 1A having a plurality of first cutting easy parts 11 comprising resistor materials and extending in a direction (x) and a plurality of second cutting easy parts 12 extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction (x); a process for dividing the substrate 1A into a plurality of band-like members by cutting the substrate 1A along a plurality of first cutting easy parts 11; and a process for dividing the band-like members into a plurality of chip resistors by cutting them along a plurality of the second cutting easy parts 12. The first cutting easy part 11 is formed of grooves 13a and 13b.
