PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector or the like capable of appropriately correcting distortion of an image when the image distortion is caused in the state of performing a lens shift. SOLUTION: A projector 100 includes: an input section 110 for inputting image distortion correction information; a distortion correction section 120 for correcting the distortion of an image; a projection section 190 for projecting through a lens 192 an image formed on a projection panel 194; a lens shift section 180 for performing lens shift driving of the lens 192; and a lens shift information generation section 130 for generating lens shift information indicating the lens shift direction and the lens shift quantity of the lens 192 on the basis of information about driving of the lens 192 by the lens shift section 180.
