PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve freedom in design for a pattern of a resistance heating element and to establish sure action in a current detecting safety circuit by providing a heating apparatus using a resistance heating element with high sheet resistance value and small resistance value temperature coefficient by electrically and parallel connecting both end parts of a heater substrate with a plurality of resistance heating elements and making a parallel connection. SOLUTION: A heating element is provided with a substrate on a long and flat plate formed by heat resistant and insulating material, a plurality of the resistance heating elements of at least two pieces or more along a long direction of the substrate, conductors connected to both end parts of each of a plurality of the resistance heating elements, and insulating layers covering a plurality of the resistance heating elements and the conductors. In the heating element used in the heating apparatus for heating material to be heated, the conductors connected to both end parts of a plurality of the resistance heating elements provided on the substrate are electrically connected at both end parts, respectively.
