<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a core and a current sensor, and to widen the measurable current range of the current sensor. <P>SOLUTION: This core 1 for the current sensor has a core body 2 formed by bending a plate material made of magnetic substance substantially annularly, a gap 4 that is formed by facing both ends 3a and 3b of the plate material 3 of the core body 2 at a predetermined interval and has a Hall element, and a tilting section 5 that is disposed in the core body 2 and tilts gradually so that the width dimension on the anti-gap 4 side of the core body 2 is smaller than the width dimension on the gap 4 side of the core body 2.
