<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication technology capable of detecting the arrival direction of a vehicle with a simple method. <P>SOLUTION: This radio communication apparatus for performing radio communication between it and on-vehicle terminal comprises a plurality of receiving antennas for receiving a known signal transmitted from the on-vehicle terminal, a position estimating means for estimating the azimuth of the on-vehicle terminal based on the phase difference of the known signal received by the plurality of receiving antennas, a travel direction estimating means for estimating whether the on-vehicle terminal approaches or separates from one's own device based on frequency transition of the known signal received by the plurality of receiving antennas, and a determining means for determining whether radio communication with the on-vehicle terminal is performed based on the estimation result by the position estimating means and travel direction estimating means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
