PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone apparatus capable of accurately outputting information about a communication partner side relating to an inputted telephone number when terminating or originating a call from or to the communication partner side. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a multifunction peripheral 1 wherein a telephone number inputted to a multifunction peripheral 1 is divided into a first number sequence (an area code), a second number sequence (local code) and a third number sequence (subscriber code), a search is performed via a search engine 90 on the Internet using a plurality of number sequences matching these divided first to third number sequences as a search keyword, and a search result can be displayed on a display 125.
