A laser light generating apparatus is provided to perform safe locking of each external resonator by using one modulation signal, when a desired laser light is generated according to FM side band method using a plurality of external resonators. A laser light generating apparatus(1) comprises a laser light source(2), a first external resonator(6) and a second external resonator(9) arranged next to the first external resonator. A phase modulator(4) receives one modulation signal, and is arranged on a light path between the laser light source and the first external resonator. A signal generation part(3) generates a modulation signal applied to the phase modulator. A nonlinear optical device(7) is arranged in each external resonator, and changes a wavelength of an incident light. An optical path length changing unit(18) changes the optical path length of each external resonator. A photo detector(14,15,16) detects a light from each external resonator. A control circuit(19) obtains a detection signal obtained by the photo detector and an error signal of each external resonator from the modulation signal, and has a negative feedback configuration to control the light path length changing unit according to FM side band method using the error signal.
