PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling capacity in a part between ports in a cylinder head 5, in an overhead four-valve type multiple cylinder internal combustion engine provided with four ports 9 for every cylinder 2 in the cylinder head 5. SOLUTION: The cooling fluid jacket of the cylinder head is formed by an individual first cooling fluid jacket 15 independent for every cylinder on the side of the cylinder block and a second cooling fluid jacket 12 which communicates between cylinders. An inside passage 18 which leads through between ports, from a cooling fluid inflow through-hole 16 positioned outside in a direction perpendicular to a crank axis 3 with respect to each port, to an outflow through-hole 17 positioned outside in the crank axis direction with respect to each port, and an outside passage 19 which leads through the outside of each port from the inflow through-hole 16 to the outflow through-hole 17, are formed in each individual first cooling fluid jacket, and flow resistance in the outside passage is made larger than that of the inside passage.
