PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric insulation material or a power cable 1, composed of a polylactic acid resin excellent in thermal resistance. SOLUTION: The electric insulation material or the power cable is constituted by including an additive having biodegradability in order to raise thermal resistance of polylactic acid resin having biodegradability. Fine particles 3 ofβ-crystallinity chitin having biodegradability are added optimumly and mixed into a polylactic acid resin 2. Since both of the polylactic acid resin of a base material of the electric insulation material or the power cable and the fine particles of theβ-crystallinity chitin of the additive have biodegradability, loading to the environment is reduced when they are disposed.
