PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material in which a cubic effect and a feeling of irregularity of a pattern of a picture pattern are visually impressed, and a material for a liquid container. SOLUTION: In the packaging material 10 laminating a picture pattern layer 13 on the outside of a substrate 11, or the material for the liquid container laminating the picture pattern 13 on the outside of a raw material roll having a paper, a flat layer 14 and a glossy layer 15 are provided on the outer surface of the picture pattern layer 13 in the order of the flat layer 14 and the glossy layer 15 or in the order of its reverse order, or the flat layer 14 and the glossy layer 15 are provided in parallel.
