PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shampoo composition having excellent non-stiffness and excellent suppleness after use, while being excellent in foaming, foam lasting and cleaning effects. SOLUTION: The shampoo composition includes ingredients of (A) an N-acyl compound in which 2-20 structures represented by formula (2) are bound with the spacer X; (B) an amino acid-based cleaning agent other than the ingredient (A); and (C) a sugar and/or a sugar alcohol formulated therein (wherein, Z is a binding part derived from functional groups possessed by a spacer X; R<SP>1</SP>CO represents an acyl group derived from a 2-20C fatty acid; R<SP>2</SP>represents a hydrogen or a 1-3C lower alkyl group or the like; Y represents any of a carboxy group, a sulfonic acid group, a sulfuric ester group, a phosphoric ester group or a salt thereof; and j and k represent each independently 0, 1 or 2).
