PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a pattern drawn on a dial plate from becoming hard to see due to the rotation of hands, and to prevent the design from being spoiled, in a timepiece having the pattern drawn on the middle section of the face. SOLUTION: A transparent cover 1 provided in front of the face, an hour hand 2, a minute hand 3, and a second hand 4 of a timepiece has a recess formed in the middle section. The pattern including a picture, a photograph, and letters is inserted in the recess.
