The invention relates to a stud wall comprising first and second horizontally aligned track members 2, 3 and a plurality of laterally spaced, vertical stud members 1 extending longitudinally between the track members. Each track member and each stud member is of generally channel-shaped cross-section with a pair of upstanding side walls (5, 6 figure 2) and a connecting web (7 figure 2) extending between the upstanding side walls. Each stud member is received in the open side of a respective track member between the upstanding side walls. Each of the track members comprises a plurality of paired elongate slots 10, 11 formed in the region between each of the upstanding side walls and the connecting web, such that the slots are adapted to accommodate a respective one of the upstanding side walls of a stud member. The ends of the stud members may be swaged where they fit into the tracks so as to provide a planar framework to support covering material. |
