As a result, when a fuel injection quantity is increased to the maximum injection quantity Qfull in order to increase the engine speed so as to enable an automatic transmission (2) to shift into a lower gear after the standby period ends, that maximum injection quantity Qfull is a large value. As a result, the engine speed increases quickly as a result of increasing the fuel injection quantity to the maximum injection quantity Qfull so the shift in the automatic transmission (2) into the lower gear can be completed earlier.</p>
