A device for transmitting data between a terminal and a printer based on a BPL(Broadband over Power Line) and a method therefor are provided to transmit data by using an existing power line while construction for a separate cable is not necessary, thereby remarkably saving time and cost when a printer is installed and increased. A power line(40) delivers electric energy. Terminals(110-1,110-2) are mounted with application programs and printer drivers. A main BPL unit(120) modulates data sent from the terminals into RF(Radio Frequency) signals to send the RF signals through the power line, demodulates an RF signal received through the power line to extract data, and sends the extracted data to the terminals. A printer(130) prints the received data. An adapter demodulates the RF signal received through the power line to extract the data, sends the extracted data to a printer main board(133), and modulates data delivered from the main board into an RF signal to send the RF signal through the power line.
